There was a lot of great content at this summit, but what resonated with me most was Breeze Liu’s story. A Berkeley grad and a successful venture capitalist by her mid-twenties, she became the target of 800+ deepfakes on porn sites, an experience that brought her to the brink of taking her own life. She turned that tragedy into Alecto AI, a company built to stop this kind of abuse, and spent four years and two presidential administrations pushing the TAKE IT DOWN Act through Congress.
If we want AI used for good, we have to be intentional and deliberate in defining what human flourishing actually requires. Her story is the sharpest argument I’ve heard for that. Beyond the talks (and the beer, popcorn, and fried calamari), I enjoyed getting to know Sukyung Chung and Rahul Rana, with Sunghee Yun joining us later for some engaging discussion. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

09-Jul-2026 - Celebrating the 100th Member with Lunch, Coaching — and a New Collaboration
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jinhee Lee, AI Nexus’s 100th registered member. To celebrate this milestone, I invited her to lunch and offered her a leadership coaching session.
Dr. Lee is an associate professor of psychiatry at Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine and a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. She is currently a visiting scholar in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
What began as a coaching conversation naturally grew into nearly three hours of meaningful dialogue about career, purpose, and contribution. Our conversation also sparked an exciting new collaboration: Dr. Lee will be the first speaker in the Human Performance Series I am developing through Northstar Emerge.
Her upcoming webinar will explore adult ADHD through the lenses of neurodevelopment, executive functioning, and emotional regulation. She will also share practical strategies that can be applied in the workplace, at home, and in relationships.
It is remarkable how one first meeting can lead to such a meaningful opportunity. I am grateful to AI Nexus for bringing us together. This is what a rich, purpose-driven community can create: meaningful relationships, unexpected collaborations, and new opportunities to contribute. You never know where one conversation may lead.
